How Do You Handle a Setback?

July 15th, 2007

If you’ve visited our site this weekend, you were probably EXTREMELY confused. You may have been redirected to the following sites:

  • youngsavvy.com
  • youngsavvy.org
  • youngsavvy.wordpress.com

All I can say is sometimes what you test behind the scenes doesn’t show up the ideal way in the real world. So what do you do when that happens? You can give up. Or you can:

  • Analyze your results
  • Learn from your mistakes (in my case, it was causing my blog to deny my own access)
  • Apologize- of course
  • And continue- for me that meant starting from scratch

Fortunately, this example of a technological frustration can be appropriately applied to your lifestyle redesign process too. Sometimes, after all your work redesigning your life in private, you’re met with unexpected criticism in the real world. In similar fashion to above, you have a couple options: Give up and go back to the lifestyle that hardly motivated you, or become a chameleon and put on the lifestyle the world says you should.

However, a better option would be to acknowledge that when you are making changes in your life people around you may be uncomfortable at first. Do not let this deter you from your mission because as you live your ideal lifestyle, they will realize that the life they’ve always wanted is quite attainable.

Back to the drawing board, I go.
